Bangkok is a vibrant Southeast Asian hub where global culture and gastronomy meet. With a strong appreciation for Japanese cuisine and a rapidly growing interest in sake, the city offers an ideal stage for introducing new labels and elevating established ones across the region.
The Bangkok Sake Challenge connects brewers with international markets through independent judging, cultural exchange, and meaningful recognition—bringing Japanese sake into one of Asia’s most dynamic cities.
Organiser’s Aims
The Bangkok Sake Challenge aims to promote a deeper global understanding of Japanese sake while supporting its sustainable development in international markets.
By positioning Bangkok as a regional hub for culture, gastronomy, and trade, the competition seeks to connect sake brewers with Southeast Asia’s rapidly growing community of sommeliers, buyers, media, and consumers.
Through independent judging, transparent evaluation, and English-language tasting notes, the Bangkok Sake Challenge provides meaningful recognition that can be used for overseas marketing and brand development.
The organizer is committed to fostering cultural exchange, encouraging education, and creating long-term opportunities that allow Japanese sake to be appreciated, understood, and enjoyed across borders.
Every sake is judged through a blind tasting by certified sommeliers and scored on flavour, aroma, quality, and presentation — giving you an unbiased assessment of your product.
Your sake will be evaluated by experts familiar with Southeast Asian tastes and food culture, helping you understand how your product resonates beyond Japan.
All entrants receive a comprehensive evaluation report in English, designed to support international marketing and informed product development.
Awarded producers receive official certificates and award stickers to proudly display on bottles, packaging, and promotional materials.
All entered sake — especially award winners — will be featured at our follow-up event, where buyers, media, sommeliers, and the general public can discover and enjoy the products firsthand.
Awarded sake will be promoted through our official social media channels and website to help maximise visibility and connect with new customers and partners in the region.
