The Thai Cuisine Pairing Award

Bangkok Sake Challenge Exclusive

Where Sake Meets the Essence of Thai Cuisine

To truly introduce sake to the heart of Bangkok, we believe it must speak the local language—the language of Thai cuisine.

With a shared foundation in fermented ingredients and a deep-rooted rice culture, Thai food and sake possess an inherent affinity. Yet, when sake encounters the signature “sweet, spicy, and sour” profiles and the vibrant herbs and spices unique to Thailand, it reveal a transformation that is nothing short of extraordinary.

While they share a foundation, the introduction of Thai cuisine’s signature “sweet, spicy, and sour” profiles—along with a diverse array of herbs and spices not found in Japanese cooking—allows sake to reveal an entirely new character. This pairing will undoubtedly be a journey of discovery, full of surprises not only for the Thai people but also for the brewers and seasoned sake connoisseurs. We believe this experience will provide vital hints and inspiration for how sake can truly penetrate and thrive in the Thai market.

For our inaugural event, we are honored to welcome chefs from two of Bangkoks most acclaimed restaurants to pair their signature dishes with sake. We will explore how these two leaders of the Thai culinary scene perceive the potential of sake, bringing you sharp insights and commentary from the chefs and top sommeliers active in Thailand.
